Here it is y’all. A year ago “Jerome” started to come together as a song I wasn’t sure I was “allowed” to do and now it finally reaches your ears. Producing this and the rest of the EP alone was something I was so scared of for some reason but it still felt right. I must admit I had lost confidence in myself a little with my last release and this was part of me reclaiming that.
I hope y’all read the lyrics. I hope you create your own meanings where I couldn’t. It’s not just a breakup song and it’s not just about an outside person. It’s a song about forgiving yourself too.
Welcome back to my mind.
lyrics
Diamonds, dancing in the moonlight
That’s when my lonely eyes, start to make a move
Islands, only real at bedtime
Baby that is just fine, I can keep my cool
What a fool
Rivers never turn into pools
Lovers should never be cruel
How could you be such a loser?
Why won’t you come to the future?
Jero-oh-oh-ome
Uh
Jero-oh-oh-ome
Lions, eating at our own pride
Come and take a big bite, I will be your fuel
Sirens, illumine our dark vibes
I wear my shades at night, as I lose my cool
What a fool
Rivers never turn into pools
Lovers should never be cruel
How could you be such a loser?
Why won’t you come to the future?
Jero-oh-oh-ome
Uh
Jero-oh-oh-ome
Look what I’ve done
In loving destroyers I flew too close to the sun
Hate weighs a ton
So I let it go, sweat it out, I’m having fun
What a fool
Rivers never turn into pools, huh
Lovers should never be cruel
How could you be such a loser?
Why won’t you come to the future?
Jero-oh-oh-ome
Uh
Jero-oh-oh-ome
(Future, Future!)
Mmm-mmm-mmm
Uh
